How drives appear to OS internally (Bug or correct behavior?)

When accessing a system through the Microsoft Admin Center I noted that NetDrive 3 drives appear as different drive types, apparently based on the provider.

OneDrive mounted volumes appear as ‘Remote’ while DropBox drives appear as ‘Removable’ even if they are both mounted as network attached volumes rather than local storage.

I confirmed this to be the case by reviewing the internals on the server & workstation where I observed this and noted that this is how the OS is categorizing the media and connection type.
